Route

The usual route is via Vihren hut. The hut was built in 1939-1941. It is an honor and pride to climb this peak. It is included in the Hundred National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria. There are 4 ways you can reach the top.

The first route is through Vihren hut on the so-called “Royal Path”. The second way is through the Kazanite area. On this side is a wall with a height of up to 300 m, on which there is an organized route for climbers. At the foot of the area you can see a small piece of eternal glacier measuring about 90 by 40 meters. The third option is through Mount Kutelo, which is the second highest in the Pirin Mountains. And the last route is designed for climbers with experience in conquering new peaks and hard-to-reach locations.

Lake Okoto

The lake is part of the large lake group Banderishki Lakes in Pirin. There are 5 lakes, and their names are: Frog Lake; Long Lake; Ribno lake, Muratovo lake and Okoto lake. The road to the lake itself is fascinating and picturesque and takes about an hour and a half.

Mountain cycling

Apart from trekking, you can also opt for cycling, which also allows you to explore the area. The options are many, one of them being the well-known “Road to Nowhere”, including paths passing through forests, eco-paths. The length of the paths intended for cycling is nearly 200 km.
